The East London ISKCON Project

The community of East London have embarked on a project to create a local ISKCON Centre in East London. The youth and young professionals of East London are playing a major role in gathering support, fundraising and managing the running of the project.

The centre will serve the community members of all ages and support local activities already currently taking place in the local area and also encourage new initiatives which are not yet taking place due to lack of facilities and resource, which this project will address.

We envisage that the following activities will be carried out from the centre:

* Weekly temple programmes (Bhagavad Gita talk, Arati and PRashad)
* Weekly Sunday School “Krishna Club” (for children under 13)
* Fortnightly “Jammin” Youth Sessions (for youth aged 13+)
* Sangas (structured study of Vedic philiosphy in small groups)
* Kirtans
* Courses – Languages (Hindi/Sanskrit), Yoga and Musical Instruments (Harmonium/Mrdanga/Kartalas/Sitar)
* Charity – Food4All (distribution of food to the homeless)

This is an ambitious and long desired project and cannot be successful without your support.
