Last week the Deities Sri Sri Nitai Gaurasundra traveled out of Bhaktivedanta Manor on their Padayatra Chariot to benedict any random living entity who happen to be on their path. We were fortunate to have their association and the association of HH Mahavishnu Swami who danced his way everyday through the busy streets of London. We were staying at Hindu Temple, where we were greeted by the Temple leader.

In Southall we arrived late 9pm the temple was closed but as soon as the pujaris heard kirtan they opened the doors and more then a dozen pujaris and managers spontaneously danced and chanted with us on the Southhall high street. Lord Caitanyas lila did not stop 500 years ago – its an eternal lila where we are all invited to take part.

In Wembley we had the first ever Rathayatra festival – it was a great success. Lots of hot halava was distributed from the cart to one and all. Southall Rathayatra was attended by the ambassador for India, South Africa, Mauritius, and Nepal. The Indian community did all the work, liaising with the police, the media, the prasad, and all the dynamic required. All we have to do is put Jaganath in the centre and turn up the volume on our sound system, and rock it out to the holy name.

Thousands and thousands of people attended the event. The Rathayatra cart was full of prasad which was distributed during the walk. The devotees decided they want this Padayatra/Rathayatra tour of North London to be an annual event and HH Mahavishnu Swami has committed himself to it and wants it developed more and more. See you there next year.
