Helping Devotees Breathe

Dear devotees, friends and supporters;

My obeisances unto you. Srila Prabhupada ki jai!

As I am sure you will know, India is going through a very severe wave of Covid 19 at the present time. Many have referred to it as a tsunami as opposed to a wave and our ISKCON communities have been badly affected too.

The GBC members are deeply concerned by the suffering of our fellow Vaishnavas in India, Bangladesh and beyond.

Hundreds of devotees are now infected and some have left this world while others are seriously ill.

Some key things that are needed to ease the suffering of the devotees are:

1. Oxygen
2. Medical equipment such as PPE etc
3. The building of a temporary field hospital in Mayapur (so the affected devotees can be situated in the same place with ease of access for the doctors treating them)

Mayapur is one of the worst affected areas and of course it is also our world headquarters and the birthplace and home of Lord Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. It is also a place that many of you will have visited and derived great spiritual fortitude from as a result

So if you are at all able to help the GBC members would be profoundly grateful if you could hold kirtan, and offer special prayers and puja requesting Lord Krishna to protect the devotees and residents of Bharat Varsha

In addition the GBC members fully support the fundraising effort of the ISKCON India leaders as part of their endeavour to help alleviate the current suffering of the devotees in their hour of great need. So we would urge you to donate as generously as you are possibly able to, toward this important mission
