Pradyumna das: In celebration of Gaura Purnima, ISKCON Leicester, UK, is launching its campaign for the renovation of its new centre.
In September 2010, our temple was destroyed in a gas explosion. We were touched by the warmth, prayers and best wishes sent to us by devotees from all over the world. While our devotee community continued programs, festivals and celebrations in different venues around the City, one very generous family purchased the new centre for the community. Built in 1875 as a bank and considered the jewel of Victorian architecture in the City of Leicester, this building will now become a home for Lord Jagannatha and Panca Tattva. It will become an attractive community hub, offering:
1. A beautiful temple hall
2. A restaurant
3. A cafe and reading room
4. A heritage room
5. A function room
Just as the global community offered us support then, I’m humbly requesting your support now. Please help us in this campaign to renovate the site so that very soon we can open its doors to the public.
