{"id":433,"date":"2011-01-07T18:50:46","date_gmt":"2011-01-07T18:50:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iskconuk.com\/?p=433"},"modified":"2011-01-07T18:58:20","modified_gmt":"2011-01-07T18:58:20","slug":"sabbatical-2011","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/iskconuk.com\/?p=433","title":{"rendered":"Residential Courses for men in 2011"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sabbatical 2011<\/p>\n<p>After completing the bhakta course or similar training programme, sabbatical is an introduction to the ideal practice of KC, with the focus of internal development and application.<\/p>\n<p>This will be two part programme with a focus on four areas:<\/p>\n<p>Sanga (Association): Devotees need to experience deep relationships that everyone is yearning for, through selfless service towards each other with Krishna in the centre.<\/p>\n<p>Sastra (Scripture): All the acharyas taught us that the greatest need for today is people who can live by the pure teachings of Krishna Consciousness.<\/p>\n<p>Sadacara (Character): Philosophy without good character is useless.<\/p>\n<p>Skills: Practical Skills are that central to vaisnava culture and lifestyle.<\/p>\n<p>For more information read below and see poster attached.<\/p>\n<p>Sabbatical Part 1 \/ Brahmachari Training<\/p>\n<p>This is a six month residential course at Bhaktivedanta Manor starting on the 24th January 2011 and completing on the 31st July 2011.<\/p>\n<p>Major highlights include:<\/p>\n<p>Learning to play musical instruments<\/p>\n<p>Learning to cook<\/p>\n<p>Bhakti shastri<\/p>\n<p>Learning and reciting key verses<\/p>\n<p>Assortment of self development and skills sessions<\/p>\n<p>Book distribution<\/p>\n<p>Harinam<\/p>\n<p>Participating in upcoming festivals<\/p>\n<p>Annual European brahmacari convention<\/p>\n<p>Travelling and preaching in various parts of UK and Europe<\/p>\n<p>Schedule will be facilitated by resident brahmacharis, deciples of Srila Prabhupada and various Sannyasis.<\/p>\n<p>To commend success in completing the course, students will be awarded Bhakti Shastri \/ Sabbatical Course certificate.<\/p>\n<p>Please note there are limited places on this course and there is an application form (attached) to be completed and sent back by 17th January 2011.<\/p>\n<p>Sabbatical Part 2 \/ India<\/p>\n<p>This is a three month residential course starting on 6th September 2011 and completing on the 22cd December 2011.<\/p>\n<p>There will be an introductory week at Bhaktivedanta Manor then travel to India making your base at Radhagopinath Temple (Chowpatty), flagship centre for training and education in bhakti-yoga, devotees benefit from the wonderful association and guidance of senior practitioners from all walks of life.<\/p>\n<p>Major highlights include:<\/p>\n<p>Travelling and preaching in various parts of India<\/p>\n<p>Bhagavad Gita study<\/p>\n<p>Learning and reciting key verses<\/p>\n<p>Book distribution<\/p>\n<p>Participating in upcoming festivals<\/p>\n<p>Accompanying HH Radhanath Maharaj on Yatra<\/p>\n<p>Visiting holy Dhams during the month of Kartik (Vrindavan, Mayapur and Jaganath Puri)<\/p>\n<p>Schedule will be facilitated by resident brahmacharis, deciples of Srila Prabhupada and various Sannyasis.<\/p>\n<p>To commend success in completing the course, students will be awarded Bhakti Shastri \/ Sabbatical Course certificate.<\/p>\n<p>Please note there are limited places on this course and there is an application form (attached) to be completed and sent back by the End of February 2011.<\/p>\n<p>Feedback<\/p>\n<p> \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Engaging in study of Srila Prabhupada\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s books and developing my sadhana, has given me an incredible spiritual foundation in preparation to re-enter the professional working environment\u00e2\u20ac\u009d (Kiran-UK)<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Staying at the Manor and Chowpatty Temple was so amazing!
